FAQs
It’s a thick, premium glass vessel built for everyday drinking water. The Flower of Life pattern adds visual appeal while keeping the surface smooth and easy to clean. Its wide opening and durable construction make it more practical than thin, decorative carboys.
Yes—thick glass walls are designed to handle normal daily use. As with all glass, avoid drops, hard impacts, and sudden temperature changes to prevent damage.
The jug is made from thick soda-lime (“soda”) glass—the standard food-safe glass used for most drinkware and storage vessels—and it is made in Italy. It’s inert and non-porous when used as directed. Note that it is not borosilicate or tempered, so you should avoid thermal shock.
Ideal for plain drinking water. It can also be used for iced tea, fruit-infused water, and other non-pressurized, non-boiling beverages. For live ferments (kombucha, jun, mead), sanitize thoroughly and consider dedicating a separate vessel.
Rinse after each use, wash with mild soap and a long bottle brush as needed, and let it air-dry fully. For mineral film, use a diluted white-vinegar rinse; for odors, soak briefly with warm water and baking soda.
Use with cool or room-temperature liquids only. Soda-lime glass should not be exposed to boiling liquids or rapid hot-to-cold/cold-to-hot changes; thermal shock can crack the glass.
Capacity is 2.5 gallons (about 9.5–10 liters). Expect a countertop-friendly footprint and a wide mouth for easy filling and cleaning.
Jugs typically include a reusable, food-grade cap (often silicone or similar). Keep the cap clean and seated evenly for the best seal. Store upright to prevent leaks.
Patterns are commonly etched or printed beneath a protective finish. With normal hand-washing (avoid abrasives), design wear should be minimal over time.
Yes—most 2.5-gallon jugs fit common countertop dispensers, racks, and padded carrying cases. Use accessories rated for heavy glass and keep the jug upright.
A filled jug weighs about 28 lb (≈12.7 kg). Lift with two hands, keep it close to your body, and avoid twisting while carrying. If moving it often, consider a handle or padded carrying sleeve, and store it at counter height to minimize lifting distance.
Because of size and weight, hand-washing is recommended. If your dishwasher accommodates it, use a gentle cycle and secure the jug to prevent movement.
Rinse with warm water, then wash with mild soap and a bottle brush. Rinse thoroughly and air-dry before filling.
Use a padded case or wrap, keep upright, avoid direct sun/heat, and place the jug on stable, level surfaces away from edges and high-traffic areas.
Do not stack glass directly on glass. If storing multiples, use a purpose-built shelf or rack that supports the load and keeps each jug secure and upright.
Policies vary by seller. Inspect upon delivery, keep packaging until you confirm it’s intact, and contact support immediately if any damage is discovered.
